A friend of mine and I had a conversation recently, and he was lamenting the fact that some folks are making more on unemployment (with the federal bonus) than when they were working, and now that some businesses are allowed to start working, they’re struggling to find people who want to come back to work. […]
Read moreAs I mentioned in my last post, I’m doing some more experimenting with content creation in the audio/visual realm. I’m doing some interviews in the coming weeks with some folks, and I wanted to test out my setup with recording the call and then post-production. My friend Wes was kind enough to be my guinea […]

I’ve always enjoyed making videos and recording things, and with the current lockdown there’s a lot more opportunity to use video and audio to communicate with folks. In particular in my role as the president of the board of our regional trail running non-profit. In the past couple weeks we’ve done some videos to promote […]

I’m a person who derives energy from being around energy. Despite being an extrovert, I do NOT require constant interaction with people. Sure, I enjoy it, but what matters more to me is being around the energy of humanity. I remember a blog post I made many years ago, after I had moved back into […]

This is the week where everything changed. At least for a while. Both my wife and I started full-time teleworking. My oldest son was already doing distance learning, so the main adjustment he’s had to deal with is having all of us in the house all day long. We’ve got our office set up with […]

We just held our second annual St Croix 40 Winter Ultra last weekend, and managed to get unpacked relatively quickly from it. However, all of this […]

As tradition dictates, it’s time for my annual New Year’s Eve Year in Review. I’ve been doing this since 2005, and there’s no reason to stop now. As I looked back over some of those early entries (on a previous blog) each of them seemed to start with, “Wow, it was a big year!” Once […]

The house is quiet. The only sounds are of the cats quietly stirring and the low hum of their water fountain pump. As I look out the window the world is covered in a fresh coat of white. The first snowstorm of the season hit yesterday morning. It’s Thanksgiving, and the world outside is quiet […]

The month of September flew by, and suddenly it’s October 1st today. A big reason that last month disappeared on me was due to our travels out west to help friends with some big races. We were gone from September 12th through the 23rd, which is nearly half the month. During that time we were […]
