Some flower photography

Despite being absent from posting here very much lately, I’m still alive and well. Just taking a break from a bunch of things while the busy-ness of the Fall finishes up. However, today I got to spend some time with my oldest child as we worked on a photography project he’s doing for school. We headed to the Como Conservatory, which was a ton of fun since I hadn’t been there in a long time. While he was working on getting the shots he needed for his assignment I made sure my camera was at my side and I got some shots of my own.

I decided to try some macro shots as well as some wide aperture bokeh shots. I got some good textures on some of these, though I wish that we had just a bit more sunlight throughout the shoot. But alas, this is what we had to work with.

  1. macro photography is a world unto itself. These DO have nice bokeh, with a few distractions to my eye. white in the background always draws my eye, but that’s just me.
