Tonight my wife ran the Twin Cities 1 Mile race, put on by the organization that does the Twin Cities Marathon. I sat this race out, and hung out with family to cheer my wife on as she ran.
One of the cool parts of a 1 mile race is getting to see the elite championship waves. These guys are fast, I mean really fast. Tonight we got to see some incredibly fast guys and gals tear up a 1 mile course around the Mill City Museum and Guthrie Theater. The winning male was 3:55, and seeing him come into the finish was really cool. He managed to best his nearest opponent by almost 4 full seconds.
My wife also PR’d tonight, and felt great with her run. It was also really cool because her mom was able to be there to help cheer her on and see her run a nice quick race.
