On our drive back we managed to stop at a couple of national parks including the Grand Canyon (which we had never been to before) and Petrified Forest National Park. Although we didn’t get to the actual petrified wood portion of the park we did spend some time along the painted desert. This vast expanse of colorful desert land was the perfect place to do some panoramas. Even with these incredible panos it’s hard to fully capture the vastness of this landscape. As with much of the western United States the scope of the wide open areas is stunning, and awe inspiring.
