I haven’t worked in a skyscraper for quite a while, but today we had a big department meeting on the 16th floor of a building in downtown Saint Paul. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to look for a cool shot. The image below isn’t of a single cool scene, but it has a lot of little elements that I really like. There is the mixture of old and new buildings that make up the foreground and background. The snow blowing off the roof of the building in the immediate foreground is incredibly cool, and I wish I would have had a high powered zoom to capture some of the snow tornadoes that were occurring. Finally, in the distance is the Mississippi river, meandering through the city. I really like the juxtaposition of the mighty river, just peeking through the concrete jungle that makes up the urban core. All in all, a fun shot.
