A few years ago my wife introduced me to the movie Idiocracy, and it was a hilarious and irreverent look at the potential for a society to devolve into the worst of itself. It’s a crass movie, but frankly, well worth sitting through. This past week Trump nominated the head of Carl’s Jr, and former head of the WWE to government positions. I was immediately drawn back to Idiocracy.

When I mentioned it on Facebook, people started defending these nominees, and I want to be clear, that I know very little of the two, and so my comparison has nothing to do with their qualifications. Simply that in Idiocracy the president of the United State is a former pro-wrestler, and Carl’s Jr is one of the main food sources of the future, with far more control over people’s lives than a fast food chain should have.

Needless to say, it was a funny coincidence, and I’m waiting on an executive from Gatorade to get nominated to complete the picture. Until then, let me leave you with a couple great clips from the movie, courtesy of YouTube. NSFW!!!
