We’re doing some re-arranging in the house, and part of that has resulted in a small desk in our bedroom. I decided that it would make a great landing place for my Chromebook or my wife’s laptop if we ever needed to work in a location different than the office. So tonight I went to Best Buy to get a monitor for the desk, and decided to try an experiment. For the most part, monitors and TVs are all the same price nowadays, and since our laptops have HDMI out, why not just get a TV?
So here I am typing on a nice little TV that has Roku built into it and it fits perfectly on the small desk. It does appear that the quality of text from a computer is a slight bit less than I prefer, but I’ll give it a shot for a few days and see if it irks me too much. Worst case we just use it for a TV and I just use my laptop screen when working on the desk.
After using anything with a high dpi display, text on an HD set does tend to look blurry.
