I am a fan of the show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, the Marvel TV show that spun off the Avengers movies. However, my wife has never been that into it, and so I usually watch it alone. But when Agent Carter came out last year, both my wife and I were hooked. Set in the time just after WWII, and following the exploits of the newly formed S.S.R. (precursor to S.H.I.E.L.D), Peggy Carter takes down bad guys with style and strength. Her portrayal of Agent Carter is awesome and they producers of done an amazing job bringing the late 1940’s to life, warts and all (ie, sexism and racism).
This week was the premiere of season 2, and we got a chance to watch the first two episodes last night. This time Peggy is sent to the west coast to solve some crimes in L.A. Thankfully, Howard Stark’s butler Jarvis happens to be there as well (Stark is trying to start a movie studio), since the dynamic between Jarvis and Carter is amazing. I won’t give away and plot spoilers, but Peggy finds herself once again entangled in a larger than life scheme that involves powers never seen before. It should be a fun ride again this season!
