Today was another running of the Boston Marathon. I managed to sneak in a bit of watching at work in the background when the runners were finishing. No American winners this year, but we still managed to place in the top ten. Desi Linden really kicked butt and it was fun to see her try to maintain through the end. The finish this year was very close on both sides, with the women being only a couple seconds apart. That might have to do with the fact that this was a rather slow year with no records close to being broken (although not as slow as 2012). Most of the field stuck together for a lot longer than usual with no one pressing hard.
All in all it was a good race and congrats to all the people who participated this year. I’ll probably never Boston Qualify, but it’s really the signature event of our sport, so it’s fun to watch.
