Tonight was the home opener for MN United FC. The excitement in the Twin Cities is growing with the move to MLS in a couple of years, and we couldn’t have asked for a better home opener.
The weather was absolutely perfect with temps in the 70s and a light breeze. Even after the sun went down it was still nice and warm. The game was a great victory tonight (3-0), and Fort Lauderdale just couldn’t seem to get itself under control. They got an early red card and it seemed to totally throw them off. The entire rest of the game they were outclassed and couldn’t put any type of passing game together.
On the other side of the coin we were able to really nail our passing game, with several key steals. Despite one of the goals being an own-goal with the other team’s defender booting it in, all of our goals were incredibly impressive. The header by Lowe was amazing and I can’t wait to watch some replays tomorrow.
It’s wonderful to be back to the games this year, and I look forward to all the camaraderie and fun on Saturday evenings.
