I picked up some cereal today from the store for one of the boys, and they requested Lucky Charms. As I picked up the box and noticed the incredibly silly looking leprechaun on the box I realized that Lucky Charms have been around forever. It got me thinking about brands or products that have been around for many decades, that haven’t really changed much over time.
You have car brands, but the look and feel of the cars change all the time. Even fast food businesses like McDonald’s have tried to reinvent themselves in recent history. In the Internet age it seems like brands come and go rapidly. I can’t even count all the music services that have sprouted and died in recent memory.
Yet, simple things like cereal seem to hang in there. It’s still the same cereal, the same leprechaun, just like when I was a kid.
