September thunderstorms

I awoke to the sound of raging thunderstorms at around 4:30am this morning. I managed to wrestle myself to sleep for a bit longer, but by 5:45am I knew I needed to get up and start getting ready. I drove to work today and experienced some incredibly heavy rain. At one point there was a backup on the freeway because a couple of people who had a fender bender stopped to exchange information in the left hand lane, under a bridge.

When I got into a construction area there was water a foot deep in places. As I was driving down the freeway slowly, listening to calming acoustic guitar music my phone would occasionally scream at me with flash flood warnings. I managed to get to a parking ramp connected to the skyway, and shot the following pic, my creation for the day.
