So recently, through a promotion, I got a free year of Amazon Prime membership. I have never had Prime before, so I was excited about the chance to check it out. One of the things that I was excited about was Amazon Prime Music, which supposedly has tons of music that you can listen to at anytime. However, I have to say that so far the selection has been a bit of a disappointment.
I had the Katy Perry song from the Superbowl running through my head, so I thought, hey I can just stream it a couple times. But when I searched for it, all I got back were covers and karaoke versions. Then today I decided to check out if there were any new Indigo Girls albums that I haven’t heard lately, to find that Prime only had a couple older albums available for streaming (along with covers and karaoke versions).
Overall, the selection is very disappointing, and I have to say that if you’re going into Prime for the music, don’t. I’ve yet to explore the video options but hopefully they will be better and will make me want to keep the subscription next year when I have to pay for it.
